Needless to say, we were pretty amped to collaborate with designer Maxine Ginsberg Mauerberger on the AW18 lookbook which stepped straight off the runway at SA Menswear Week in February. Hairstylist Gailene Thora was tasked with creating a Viking-esque, look for model Michael Hervely, a finalist in America’s Next Top Model talent search. Hair braiding is Gailene’s forté and with a fun brief and such talent to work with she did us proud. The look was created using Kevin Murphy’s Free.Hold Créme and Session.Spray.
KM Free Hold is a medium hold styling cream which contains carnauba wax which has a thickening effect, yerbi mate for lustre and its high vitamin count, essences of bergamot and patchouli. The product has a high melting point which help keep the style for longer.
KM Session. Spray contains hydrolyzed wheat proteins, natural fragrance oils, and a UV shield for colour protection. It provides a firm, weightless, lasting hold perfect for shoots or late night out.
Michael’s final look met the brief to perfection; worthy of being covered by presenter and fellow ZG model Jimi Ogunlaja for Spice TV. We also have to concede that the Zeitgeist AW18 lookbook is a work of art and that Michael deserves to win America’s Top Next Model. Who knows? Maybe Gailene even gets to join his entourage.
