Who is Kevin Murphy you may ask? He just happens to be one of the worlds most respected and sought after Hairstylists.
Born in Melbourne, his hair stylist career began as an apprentice in a Queensland salon. He then went on to train at the famous Vidal Sassoon in London. From there on onwards, Murphy’s incredible career stretches more than two decades, during which he has established himself as an industry icon and a hair master. Vogue stated him as the one who invented the iconic “beach hair” look. ( my personal favourite look of all time and one I always like to pull off no matter what occasion it is)
Kevin Murphy is no stranger to the celebrity world either. He boasts a long list of celebrity clientele such as Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minouge, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Heidi Klum, Enrique Iglesias and Australia’s top three supermodel exports, Miranda Kerr, Catherine McNeil and Jessica Hart. He has also worked on countless pages of editorial work for high-end magazines around the globe such as Vogue, Harper”s Bazaar, Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, Marie Claire, Vanity Fair, InStyle, Rush, GQ, among others.
With all the hype, glitz and glam of the legendary KEVIN.MURPHY brand, it was only a matter of time before I got my hands on a few of his outstanding hair products.
My KEVIN.MURPHY shampoo of choice:
My KEVIN.MURPHY shampoo of choice is the Plumping Wash, which is a thickening shampoo with ginger root and nettle extracts to strengthen and add density to fine hair while leaving it revitalized and refreshed. To date, this is probably the best shampoo I have ever used.
My hair seriously loves this product because it is very gentle on my roots while still providing my hair with the volume it so desperately needs. My hair never feels dry after and ever since I’ve starting using the Plumping Wash, I only need to wash my hair 3 times a week, as it remains healthy shiny without any oily residue creeping up on me. It smells like a very expensive perfume, but in a subtle way. It also makes me so happy to know that all Kevin Murphy products are Sulfate and paraben free and not tested on animals!
MY KEVIN.MURPHY conditioner of choice:
My KEVIN.MURPHY conditioner of choice is the Plumping Rinse – yes that’s right because it goes hand in hand with my KM Plumping Wash. This thickening conditioner contains Hemsleya Root rich in Oleanolic Acid which nourishes and restores for thicker, stronger hair.
This conditioner feels so good, smells amazing and works wonders for plumping up and hydrating my hair. Since I started uses it which has been over the last 3 months, it has definitely stimulated new hair growth! It’s also super easy to apply: After I’ve washed my hair with the Plumping Wash, I leave it in my hair for 1- 2 minutes and then rinse.

My KEVIN.MURPHY Treatment of choice is Shimmer.Shine and by far my favourite product of all. This gold sparkly finishing mist revives shine and repairs hair due to its active ingredients: Vitamins A, C and E, Baobab, Immortelle and Bamboo extracts.
