Oxygen facial; the red carpet treatment now at Langaro

oxygen facial

An Oxygen facial is the latest addition to our skincare service here at Langaro. Hailed as a red carpet treatment, its taken anti-aging to the next level with results so noticeable, you’ll be ready to face a camera on the red carpet with total confidence.

Advanced technology and the constant pursuit of youth has led to the rapid advancement in facial technology. Gone on the days of a standard steam clean. Clients are demanding instant result-driven treatments, and with less time to spend on themselves, efficacy has become a top priority. Enter, the Oxygen facial; a treatment which offers exactly what the description demonstrates.

During this treatment, a pressurized device is used to direct 94% pure oxygen onto the face thereby pushing active product ingredients into the skin. Active ingredients have moved from basic moisturizers to hyaluronic acid, collagen and antioxidant rich serums. This powerfully formulated facial will target expression lines, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, pigmentation and enlarged pores. The skin is immediately left looking plumper, firmer, more hydrated and revitalized. What clients have found is the significant reduction in those designer bags so prevalent under tired eyes.

Why is oxygen important

The air that we breathe is about 78% nitrogen and only 21% oxygen. While oxygen is one of the most vital components needed to create ATP (life) in our mitochondria (skin cells) we’re clearly not getting enough to prevent degeneration.

“ATP is the body’s primary source of cellular energy and is responsible for all cellular activity from the most basic to the most complex. Studies indicate that by the time we reach 60, our ATP levels of cellular energy will have decreased by as much as 50%.  Because of the profound affect that cellular respiration has on the synthesis of ATP, and the immediate effect that ATP has on the texture, colour and consistency of the skin, oxygen concentrators have quickly found their way into the world of aesthetics,” – David Suzuki, founder of Bio-Therapeutic South Africa

What does this facial entail?

Once you’ve entered a treatment room, your skin will be cleansed and exfoliated. Depending on your needs, the therapist will then apply a serum or mask to the skin which will remain on during the oxygen application.

With the use of a machine called the bt-Accent Air, 94% oxygen is then infused into the skin – a five-fold increase on the percentage in the ambient air we breathe. The device has three applicators; the oxy wand (similar to an airbrush), the oxy jet ( ‘jet’ air to the skin), and the oxy dome (a plastic dome placed over the face). Any one application is equally effective and totally dependent on your levels of comfort. After application, a moisturiser and sunscreen is applied, leaving your skin looking fresh, relaxed and dewy.

An oxygen treatment can be performed as a standalone or an add-on service, and plug into any beauty product you are using. Its completely safe to use on any adult age group as well as during pregnancy. With party season coming up, shouldn’t you be thinking about an oxygen facial?
